we are only Quality INDIAN manufacturer

Tungsten copper (WCu) materials are used for arcing contacts in SF6 circuit breakers for high and medium voltage applications. At the heart of the switching chamber, WCu arcing contacts are exposed to extreme mechanical and thermal stresses. During arcing, the temperature can reach levels ≥ 20,000 K, for instance. Tungsten-copper has unique material properties. A high level of temperature resistance is one of the most important advantages of tungsten, while the copper content increases the electrical and thermal conductivity.

Grain size

The arc erosion behavior of tungsten-copper is also affected by the grain size of the tungsten, depending on whether it is used as the cathode (C) or anode (A) and in an SF6 or air atmosphere

composition

Depending on the voltage and current intensity as well as on economic considerations, we can vary the tungsten content between 60 and 90 % by weight to meet your exact requirements.

Ni acticated

Our Ni-activated sintering process means that WCu materials have a low susceptibility to cracking while at the same time offering excellent electric conductivity.

Customized

Our specialists will develop your own customized materials with high arc erosion resistance and perform cost-effective, net shape sintering, machining, assembly operations.

TUNGSTEN COPPERINDIA

tungsten copper physical & mechanical properties

excellent arc resistance

Due to excellent arc resistance it is used in EDM & Resistance welding electrode where material is non ferrous to be weld

outstanding electrical conductivity

Due to copper % with Tungsten great electrical conductivity achieved, which is most required in electrical contact and as heat sink.

high strength

Due to higher % of tungsten higher hardness & higher density is achieved with higher resistance which is also required in electrode for better life

good machinability

Due to manufacturing process (powder metallurgy) machinability is achieved which is the most importance factor when precise shape is required.

very good thermal conductivity

In tungsten copper,  Increase in copper increases the thermal conductivity, which plays a huge part when being used in circuit breakers

low thermal expansion

The low thermal expansion of tungsten allows thermal expansion matching to silicon, gallium arsenide, and some ceramics,
